Once we have met with you our next step is to learn more about your business and the key issues within it. To do this we undertake a detailed health check across it – looking at key facets of your people, processes, culture and the technology you use.
We do this in support of the initial issues you identify, so that we spot any related problems & root causes. In our 20 years of experience, the issues we initially see are rarely the source of the underlying problems and we want to work with you to fix it right the first time.
An additional benefit, this deeper analysis gives is the frequency with which it highlights hidden opportunities we can help you unlock.
Once this phase is complete we will then build a range of solutions in the next step (Propose Options).

Let’s consider a case where a retail business came to us with a costly issue – they were struggling with inventory management meaning lost custom. reputation & reduced profit.
As part of our research phase, we conducted interviews and focus groups with the staff involved in procurement, sales, and inventory control. We analyzed sales data, reviewed supply chain processes, and assessed the impact of market trends on inventory turnover. This helped pinpoint inefficiencies, such as the overstocking of certain products & delays in restocking popular items.
In addition to this, we evaluated their technological capabilities, determining if outdated systems were also a cause of bottlenecks. We explored the company’s competitive landscape, identifying how competitors’ strategies were influencing market dynamics.
Finally, as we all felt was required, we evaluated the wider process and cultural influences to see how this may be impacting upon behaviour and ways of working.
Our approach meant that any future proposal would be more holistic and robust than simply looking at stock control. This thorough evaluation enabled us to truly understand the unique challenges and nuances of the business, laying the groundwork for a fixed first-time outcome.
